STEM Programs at San Joaquin County Office of Education provides professional learning for teachers and programs and events for students in the areas of science while integrating, technology, engineering, and math and environmental literacy. STEM Programs facilitates student initiatives at Durham Ferry Outdoor Education Center, The SJCOE FabLab and Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center. We also host student events such as; SJCOE STEAM Fair, Dinner With a Scientist, and STEM Camps during the school year and in the summer.

STEM PROGRAMS OFFERINGS

We offer a wide variety of professional learning for STEM hybrid and blended learning for K-12 teachers.
We offer student field trips and summer camps at the SJCOE FabLab and Durham Ferry Outdoor Education Center. Our student events include Dinner with the scientist, STEAM fair, H2O Hackathon, Vex Robotics and more.
The Fab Lab is an engineering classroom designed to "WOW." The idea is for kids to learn NGSS engineering design standards, while being amazed at their own ability to use math, science, and technology to invent something new.
From the High Sierras, to the mighty San Joaquin River, the San Joaquin County Office of Education is proud to offer students two outdoor sites. Come experience our sites for your enjoyment, education, and inspiration of the outdoors.
The goal of the environmental literacy networks in Region 6 is to connect and support environmental education between community-based partners, educators, students, school districts, and sites. We will meet throughout the year to address challenges, support each other's work, build capacity, foster collaboration, and further integrate our districts and schools to address local and global environmental challenges. Please fill out the following survey to join our list - you can opt out at any time.
There are many opportunities to volunteer at STEM Programs. We seek retired teachers, science professionals, outdoor enthusiasts and students that enjoy working with school age children.
